dc.description.abstract This article discusses acid deposition in the regions of New England and New York. Most of the information focuses on what has been learn since the enactment of amendments to the Clean Air Act (CAAA) in 1990. These amendments addressed the effects of acidic deposition on forest vegetation, soils, and surface waters and the influence of past and, possibly, future reductions of emissions on ecosystem recovery in the northeastern United States. en_US
